Sooryavanshi is a remake of Manmohan Desai’s Amar Akbar Anthony. The film stars Akshay Kumar as Veer Sooryavanshi, a hard-working cop who takes pride in his work. His mission is to find out about upcoming threats in Mumbai. It’s a tough job for him, but his dedication proves he can do it.

Despite a few flaws, Sooryavanshi is a good action thriller. It has a good script and a well-crafted background score. There are some spectacular set pieces. But it can also be a bit rushed. For example, the opening 15 minutes are confused. That’s because Shetty has introduced multiple characters within the first fifteen minutes. While it works, it’s hard to remember the actors.

The story of Sooryavanshi revolves around the occurrence of a terrorist attack on Mumbai. It also covers a tumultuous love story between Sooryavanshi and his wife, Ria. He is a hard-working cop who puts family before duty, but has to sacrifice his personal life in order to protect Mumbai.

Unlike most Rohit Shetty films, Sooryavanshi has not been made for a mass audience. This is the director’s way of introducing his own cop universe. As a result, the movie plays out like a regular police procedural. Nevertheless, it does have an emotional impact.
