Most Luxurious Place You Must Visit in Murree

A colonial-era town on the border between Azad Kashmir and Punjab in Pakistan, Murree is exceedingly popular with Pakistani families and local visitors.

Murree is one of the important and preferable summer resorts of Pakistan. People from all over the country visit this beautiful hill resort to escape from the sweltering heat. Above all mountains covered with lush green trees, cold atmosphere, fresh air, beautiful valleys and most important clouds on the roads hugging you with full of happiness. 

Though ten years ago it was a rustic but charming out-of-the-way place, its growing popularity has altered it drastically. It has quickly sprouted large hotels to handle the influx of visitors, so it is now not as clean or serene as it used to be.

Mountain Points

There are many scenic hikes in this area, some of which have chair lifts and small parks or shops to visit. Here are some of the more popular peaks and paths:

Kashmir Point offers a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and town. The Kashmir mountains are visible from here, hence the name Kashmir Point.  There are two roads up the GPO towards Kashmir Point; each route offers its own unique view of Murree, so for great views, both ways, take one route going and the other coming back.

Pindi Point is one of the prime points to visit in Murree. There are chair lifts here that travel 1.5 kilometers up or down the slope. You can relax and take it all in as zigzag roads and great pines pass below you, with mountains on the horizon. At the bottom, there is a coffee shop and children’s playground. There will also be many people offering to let you ride and take pictures with horses, but don’t do this until you have firmly fixed a price.

Baader Point, or, Monkey Point, does indeed have monkeys. The Ayubia chair lifts drop you off not far from here. The monkeys, though wild, are fairly tame from lots of exposure to humans.

Shopping

Murree is not a big place for shopping, but Mall Road is the famous marketplace in the city. It is best to visit after sunset to see the lights, enjoy the atmosphere of the town, and eat authentic Pakistani food. Souvenir shops and other little stores are situated on both sides of the road and most things are open until midnight.

Patriata

New Murree is about 15 kilometers away from the main Murree hills on the Lower Topa side. It is a well-developed hill station with great high-raised trees, beautiful hills. This is famous due to the chair lift, which is worth a ride. Furthermore, a world-class chair lift & cable car system takes you from New Murree to Patriata. The total ride is about 7 km long. You may hike up the Kashmir point. The way passing by the Cadet College Murree goes towards the Murree Residence of the President of Pakistan. It has beautiful sightseeing. You can see Kashmir Mountains from this point. It is the highest spot in Murree and due to increasing rush on Mall road, this point is taking visitor’s attention day by day.

Changla Gali

Considering to be the most important mountain resort in Galliat, as it is occupied with numerous hotels and guest houses for the tourist. The beauty of Changla Gali takes more colors and amazement with the change in the climate. The whole town is mild cold in summers and heavy snowfall in winters. Nathiagali

The most centrally placed and the most well-known of the Galliat is Nathiagali. Nathiagali is situated at an equidistance of 35 kilometers from Murree as well as Abbottabad and at an altitude of 8400 feet. It provides splendid scenic views and commands a fine view of the snow-capped peaks of Kashmir and Kohistan on one side and the Pothwar plain on the other. In the foreground, to the northeast rise the green slopes of MiranJani Mountain. Nathiagali provides unspoiled natural beauty and a breathtaking view of mountains. It is located at the doorsteps of 9779 feet Miranjani and 9258 feet Muskhpuri Mountain. On a clear day, may be seen the towering heights of the Nanga Parbat, with all its snow-crowned majesty.

Ayubia

Ayubia has become the most important spot in the Galliat after Nathiagali. In 1984 an area of 1,684 hectares of mountain forest was declared as a national park, with the aim of preserving the beautiful forest and biodiversity. The park area was expanded through a northern extension in 1998 to 3,312 hectares. The elevation of “Ayubia National Park” ranges between 1,050 meters in the valleys to 3,027meters at the mountain tops within. These mountains are 40 million to 170 million years old.
