The second season of the anime series will be airing on Japanese TV on the schedule of MBS and TBS. In the wake of the announcement that the series will return, the official anime YouTube channel for the series has uploaded a new video trailer for Darling in the Franxx Season 2. The trailer starts with Kamui facing off against Rou who is now “functionally immortal” in the new season.
The new trailer opens with Kamui commenting that Rou is now a terrifying force and he may be in a way even stronger than Cell. Further, the trailer shows that while Clow Reed, his daughter, and the rest of the Legion are trying to regroup to defend their homes, an evil force known as the Baguazi has infiltrated their ranks.
Toronto also posted a new image on Twitter that is the cover of the first volume of the manga for Darling in the Franxx Season 2.
Darling in the Franxx Season 2 New Installment Manga
The first volume of the manga for Darling in the Franxx Season 2 was released on June 27, 2019, and it is featuring a cover featuring Clow Reed and three of the main characters: Kamui, Rou, and Homura. The first three-panel spread is also featuring an alternate take on the scene featured in the official trailer for the second season. The rest of the cover features a picture of Kamui fighting against Rou.
The official Twitter page for the series also shared a poster that features the main characters in their new uniforms.

The English dub was directed by Michael Blakemore who has previously helmed the dub for Epic Meal Time’s Chef’s Epic. He was assisted by Todd Haberkorn.
The original Japanese cast members will also be returning for the new season. The English cast will be joining the series with some prominent voice actors in the dubbing industry. Joining the English dub cast is Natalie Palamides who has worked on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, HrvojeHranić who has voiced Alucard in Danganronpa, and Alyson Stoner who has voiced Maple in the recent Teen Titans Go! animated series. All of the English cast members from the first season have confirmed their return.

Darling in the Franxx Season 2 Synopsis – Story Line
An unidentified virus began to spread in the city of Joura in the Franxx – a massive city space station. The mutated bodies of the disease carriers were transformed into giant humanoid robots called Arcs who attacked the people living in the city. The survivors retreated into the parts of the city where it was safe, but the Arc’s still went after them.
They were outnumbered and on the verge of death when Clow Reed saved them and took them to safety on the Franxx. Reed and the other survivors formed a band of fighters and formed the Legion of Fighters to defend the people of Joura. While everyone was working to make the world safe, the sole surviving Arc, Rou, gained a new power from the virus and became immortal. You then embarked on a series of desperate quests to retrieve the pieces of the virus and unlock its powers.
Meanwhile, Kamui and friends travel the Franxx in the pursuit of Rou. But at the same time, the Rinken on their own side of the Empire were fighting to protect their homeworld of Rozen Maiden and eliminate a group of Rinken who had discovered that the Empire was part of a plot to exterminate the Rinken for what they had done.
